I’m not really one for reality shows these days, and I have to admit I have never heard of any of the ‘stars’ in the finale last night (except for being aware of Bristol Palin’s existence), but I do love watching a good dance, and boy I wasn’t disappointed when I tuned into the Dancing With the Stars Finale last night.
Apparently the most watched show on American TV, the show reminds us that dancing, ballroom especially) is something that can be enjoyed by young and old alike, and although watching it will never beat the real thing, there is something so thrilling when you are absorbed in a couple with fantastic chemistry, grace and talent ala Jennifer and Derek:
Even my hubby was glued to the screen (whoops, maybe that was a secret?). Before our wedding we took 3 months of dance lessons in order to choreograph our first dance, and though it was a bit of a disaster (we had never practiced in my dress and I was paranoid the entire time that he was going to step on it and it was going to fall!) the lessons are one of the highlights of the wedding planning process for me. I don’t think I would have got him near a wooden dance floor for any other occasion.
